ABSTRAK

Tuberkulosis (TB) Paru masih menjadi masalah kesehatan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Parak Karakah Kota Padang. Berdasarkan laporan Dinas Kesehatan Kota Padang Tahun 2025, capaian penanganan kasus TB sebesar 86,7% belum mencapai 100%.

ABSTRACT

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) remains a public health issue in the service area of the Parak Karakah Community Health Center in Padang City. According to the 2025 report from the Padang City Health Department, the TB case management rate of 86.7% has not yet reached 100%. This study aims to determine the relationship between housing density, humidity, lighting, and ventilation and the incidence of pulmonary TB in the service area of the Parak Karakah Community Health Center in 2026.
This is a quantitative study using a case-control design. The study was conducted from March to August, with data collection taking place from June 18 to June 29, 2026. The population consisted of 80 respondents, comprising 40 controls and 40 cases, selected using total sampling. The data used included primary and secondary data, with univariate and bivariate analyses performed using the chi-square test.
The results of the study showed that in the case group, 18 respondents (45.0%) had substandard housing density, 26 respondents (65.0%) had substandard humidity, 30 respondents (75.0%) had substandard lighting, and 28 respondents (70.0%) had substandard ventilation. Meanwhile, in the control group, 6 respondents (15.0%) had substandard housing density, 16 respondents (40.0%) had substandard humidity, 15 respondents (37.5%) had substandard lighting, and 16 respondents (40.0%) had substandard ventilation. Statistical test results showed an association between housing density (p-value = 0.007 and OR = 4.6), humidity (p-value = 0.044 and OR = 2.76), lighting (p-value = 0.002 and OR = 5.00), and ventilation (p-value = 0.013 and OR = 3.50) with the incidence of pulmonary TB.
It can be concluded that there is an association between housing density, humidity, lighting, and ventilation and the incidence of pulmonary TB in the service area of the Parak Karakah Community Health Center in Padang City in 2026. It is hoped that the Community Health Center will increase public outreach and education regarding the prevention of pulmonary TB and the importance of maintaining the physical condition of homes to meet health standards.
